This summer, Cal Poly’s Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) recognized Judy Drake for her tireless efforts in support of both students and the BFSA. Judy is a library services specialist in Access Services, and has been serving the students and campus via her work with Kennedy Library for 42 years.
Judy has often been described as the face of the library. She has offered many students both professional guidance and personal connection in her role.
Preston Allen, executive director of university housing, described Judy as “an amazing source of support for the BFSA with her time and uplifting spirit. [She is] a great example of resilience… hard-work and commitment.”
As an example of Judy’s contributions, Professor Camille P. O’Bryant cited the Black History Month display Judy has coordinated for the campus community for many years.
Judy is committed to continuing to support Cal Poly students and the BFSA. She looks forward to assisting with Black Legacy Weekend 2015.
