Jessica Holada named Director of Special Collections and Archives

Jessica Holada joined Cal Poly on March 3, as Kennedy Library’s new Director for Special Collections and Archives.

An expanding vision

As a member of the library’s leadership team, Jessica arrives at a time when the library is engaged in master planning that will expand both the capacity of our archival and special collections, and increase their reach through instruction, exhibits, digital programs, and relationships both on campus and across the community.

Diverse and accomplished career

Jessica joins Cal Poly from the Margaret Herrick Library, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, where she has led a team responsible for cataloging graphic materials, and has continued a career with broad experience in public services, exhibition, preservation, and rare books.

Jessica has previous experience in the CSU, as a supervisor in Special Collections and Archives at CSU Northridge. She’s also worked in rare books, ephemera and artists’ books at the Getty Research Library, the Huntington, UCLA’s William Andrews Clark Memorial Library, and in the photograph collections at the Los Angeles Public Library.

History of print and print culture

Jessica is active in national special collections, archives, and printing history professional associations, and has served as a guest curator for a recent exhibition at Occidental College Library on print culture in Northeast Los Angeles. Jessica received her BA in art history from Loyola Marymount University, and her MLIS from UCLA.
