eBook collections

ACLS Humanities eBooks

An online and comprehensive collection of over 3,700 high quality books in the humanities and area studies, chosen by scholars and scholarly societies. These titles are provided by the ACLS in collaboration with twenty learned societies and over 100 contributing publishers.

Business Expert Press

A collection eBooks in business, supply and operations management, international business, social media, finance, accounting, public relations, and marketing strategy.


CABI (Centre for Agricultural Bioscience International) eBooks cover such subjects as animal and veterinary sciences, agricultural economics, environmental science, food, human health and nutrition, plant sciences, rural studies, and leisure and tourism studies.


CRCnetBase eBooks publishes hundreds of reference handbooks in engineering, chemistry, biology, medicine, technology and the environment.


EBL offers content across all subject areas, with a focus on recent titles – most specifically in the areas of Science, Technology and Medicine (STM). EBL features titles from hundreds of academic publishers. Individual titles are listed in PolyCat.

EBSCOhost eBooks

Offers full text content for over 1,400 titles and also provides access to more than 3,500 publicly available titles, primarily literary classics. The collection covers the arts, humanities, social sciences and sciences.


Publishes content from university presses and other scholarly publishers. You can create an account to add notes to books, keep a handy “bookshelf”, and download books to ebook readers. Individual titles are listed in PolyCat.

IEEE/MIT Press eBooks Library

Offers MIT Press eBook titles in fields such as computer science, artificial intelligence, information theory, computer programming, information technology and electrical engineering.

JSTOR eBooks

Full-text scholarly eBook titles in the fields of language and literature, philosophy, religious studies, and sociology.

Project MUSE

Project MUSE provides eBooks content primarily in the humanities and social sciences content; MUSE eBook and journals content, published by leading university presses and scholarly societies, is fully integrated for discovery on their platform.

Safari Books Online

The Safari eBook Library provides access to almost 6,000 titles in computer programming and sciences, desktop and web applications, digital media, communications, career planning and more.

Springer eBooks

Springer eBook content includes an array of subjects such as architecture and design, biomedical sciences, chemistry, engineering, environmental Sciences, life sciences, mathematics, physics, public health and more.

Open access (free) eBooks

There are also many other eBooks freely available on the web. These are primarily older books, which are no longer restricted by copyright law. Some sites also offer previews of newer books, and can be a great way to discover what books are available on a topic.

Google Books

Google has partnered with libraries to provide full and partial content to more than 20 million books.

Google Books offers advanced search optiions, personal library and book list and other features. In addition to conventional books, Google Books now offers online editions of older trade and popular magazines (e.g. Life, Mother Jones). This is a great source to identify potential books and read a sample to learn if the book will be useful to you.

Hathi Trust

A large-scale collaborative repository of digital content from research libraries including content digitized via the Google Books project as well as content digitized by libraries. HathiTrust provides access to over 5.5 million books. HathiTrust provides a number of discovery and access services, notably, full-text search across the entire repository.

Internet Archive

The Internet Archive is a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Like a paper library, they provide free access to researchers, historians, scholars, and the general public.

Their Open Library project features over 1 million freely available eBook titles.
