Kennedy Library has been working with the Graphic Communication department in the College of Liberal Arts on a recent gift to Cal Poly, the E.H. Wadewitz Collection, donated by the Printing Industries of America.

The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) named Cal Poly’s Robert E. Kennedy Library as a recipient of the 2014 Excellence in Academic Libraries Award. “Objects of Affection,” an exhibit that draws on the personal papers of families featured in an ethnic studies project, will be on display at the Kennedy Library at Cal Poly from May 12 to June 6.
An opening reception featuring spoken word, musical entertainment and authentic Filipino cuisine is planned from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, May 23, in Kennedy Library’s second floor.
Kennedy Library will host “Binary Dance,” an interactive gaming experience on stage at Mission Plaza during the second annual San Luis Obispo Mini Maker Faire from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 10.
Cal Poly’s Outstanding Student Employee of the Year awards reception was held last week. Among the nominees were three students from Kennedy Library — Ben Kieffer, Matt Rice and Lauren Young, who was named second runner up!
Steve Duenes, the graphics director for The New York Times, will present “How to Use Data and Design to Tell Stories” from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 9, in the Cal Poly Kennedy Library’s second floor café area.
