Three Library Faculty Published in C&RL Journal

Librarians Brett Bodemer, Marisa Ramirez and Jeanine Scaramozzino all have articles that will be published in the upcoming May 2012 issue of College & Research Libraries (C&RL). The articles are available now as preprints.

Rethinking the research process
Brett Bodemer is the librarian for the College of Liberal Arts. His article, The Importance of Search as Intertextual Practice for Undergraduate Research, has already been the subject of a post by Inside Higher Education blogger Barbara Fister. In his writing Brett advocates for a re-conceptualization of the research process to support students’ lifelong learning.

Jeanine Scaramozzino and Marisa Ramirez

Data preservation and data sharing
Jeanine Scaramozzino, Librarian for the College of Science and Mathematics, and Marisa Ramirez, the Digial Repository Librarian, collaborated with Statistics Assistant Professor Karen J. McGaughey in writing A Study of Faculty Data Curation Behaviors and Attitudes at a Teaching-Centered University. The article discusses the results of a survey they implemented with COSAM faculty that focused on data preservation and data sharing and educational needs.
