Schadenfreudians!

After having the gall to dis a Pulitzer Prize winning novel, I just ran across a new blog mentioned on Short Stack, the Washington Post book blog. While I don’t delude myself that Marilynne Robinson has seen my underwhelmed response to her novel (or would lose any sleep over it if she did), I did experience a “who died and made you queen of everything?” moment.

The blog is called “The Worst Review Ever”, and, though it talks mostly about YA and chick lit titles so far, it’s worth looking at for a sampling of authors’ reactions to bad reviews. Followers of the blog call themselves “schadenfreudians”; authors who share their critical drubbings are “worsties.”
