Journals on Microform

What is microform?

Microfiche: Rectangle of plastic containing information in very small type that can be read when enlarged by a machine called a "microfiche reader."

Microfilm: Reel of plastic film containing information in very small type that can be read when enlarged by a machine called a "microfilm reader."

For some titles, the Library has retained older issues on microfilm or microfiche rather than binding issues.

"MICROFILM"

If the volume you are looking for is listed in PolyCat as "MICROFILM" (under "holdings") it is shelved in the Map and Microform Room near the Research Help Desk in Room 111.
  • Copy the item call number (e.g. S631 .B4 "Better Crops"), and
  • go to the back wall of the Microforms Room to search the microfilm cabinets.

How to view

Microfilm and microfiche can be viewed on special machines in this room. Images of pages may be viewed, printed or scanned.
