Community-Supported Agriculture, Education, and Intellectual Freedom

Join us for the November 17th Science Café at Cal Poly’s Kennedy Library.

This informal discussion begins with a presentation about Community-Supported Agriculture and the Cal Poly Organic Farm, and a resulting discussion about enterprising educational tools and the community’s role in supporting education. We’ll also talk about other local food trends. Intellectual Freedom, given recent publicity around an open-campus forum on Sustainable Agriculture and food trends, will be the ensuing, moderated discussion topic between all campus community constituents.

Cal Poly Organic Farm manager Cindy Douglas’s presentation will lead the moderated program that runs from 5:00 to 6:30 pm, at the 2nd floor Café Lounge. Also participating are faculty members and students from History, Ethnic Studies, Economics, Food and Nutrition Science Departments.
