Answer: The five floors of the Kennedy Library offer both active and quiet study spaces to accommodate every kind of study need.

By popular demand, the 4th and 5th floors are designated ‘quiet study zones.’  In addition, the 24-Hour space has a quiet study room on the first floor.

We want the library to be a place where you can study in comfort, if you are finding a particular area unusually loud, feel free to bring this to the attention of any staff member within the library

A lot of us were planning to study here for a test we have tomorrow. Stop the library furloughs!!!!

Answer: Unfortunately, we were forced to take several furloughs over the last year resulting in a 10% pay cut.  We tried to inform all students of our mandatory library closure days by posting a large stanchion in the entrance to the library.  This sign displayed all the dates that the library would be completely closed.
Our website also the best way to get the most accurate information with holidays, and hours.
We apologize for the inconvenience of the furloughs but the good news is that they have ended! We hope don’t have to endure them again but if we do, be sure and check the library website for closure days and holidays!

    Answer: Thank you for your comment and we are so glad you are enjoying the Poly Connect Lab and you’re right, it would be fantastic to offer chargers for laptops!  However, due to the large variety of laptops, we simply cannot keep a supply of chargers in stock.  

    Did you know that Poly Connect offers laptops to be checked out for a maximum of 3 hours?In addition to laptops there are many other things that Poly Connect has available for you to check out some to include kindles, video camera, projector, headphones and much more!

    Answer:  You’re in luck! We recently added 45 lockers just for that purpose!  You can find these lockers on the second  floor at the top of the stairs just to the left of the administration hallway.  Check our web site for more information and locker policies. If you have more questions about graduate lockers, feel free to contact anyone at the circulation (front) desk, they’ll be more than happy to help you.

    Answer:   We added some smaller tables recently, and will keep adding more until we get a good mix.  On the 4th and 5th floors there are many individual cubicals and smaller tables, it’s also much quieter up there! Don’t forget the library is a big building, so explore!I’m sure you will find just the spot you’re searching for!

    Answer:  While we do extend our hours during finals week we are unable to keep the entire library open 24 hours due to staffing needs in addition to the regular cost to keep the library open.

    We now offer an expanded 24 hour study space just to the right of the library entrance, it is open 24 hours a day every day! Check it out and let us know what you think!
