Blackboard announced today that they will be collaborating with Syracuse University to create a connector to Sakai, one of the open-source alternatives to course management software. They also are pursuing a similar connector with Moodle. Finally, Blackboard is walking the walk (even if it is a toddler shuffle) to increase interoperability and openness.
