On Thursday, April 30th, at 6:00 pm in Philips Hall, Bldg. 006, Room 124, feminist philosopher of science, Dr. Sandra Harding will present her talk on, “Why Should We Value Indigenous Knowledge?”

Sandra Harding is a Professor of Social Sciences and Comparative Education in the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Sciences.

What is indigenous knowledge and why do indigenous peoples value it? What does it have to do with biodiversity? Feminist philosopher of science Sandra Harding explores what western scientists and engineers, as well as historians and philosophers of science and engineering, can learn from indigenous knowledge.
