There are a million tutorials out there for showing you how to do X to your web site. Actually, sometimes it can be a little overwhelming. How do you choose the right tutorial? (Personally, I tend to err on the side of lynda.com; good tutorials you can bank on.)

Net.Tuts is an arm of the Tuts+ body of tutorial sites and it tends to lean to advanced topics (well, advanced to me — I don’t do a lot of scripting or programming and it tends to focus on that part of web dev) (and by “a lot” i mean any). I subscribe to this site (both monetarily and RSS-wise) and recommend it.

I bring today’s tutorial to the Autologic blog because it is a GREAT tutorial for a beginner. Want to build a nice-looking web site and don’t even know where to start? This tutorial is for you. Even better, it is based on standards and will get you habituated in writing good html/css as well.
