Student Information Skills
Spring 2010. From May 11 thru May 28 the Kennedy Library is conducting a Student Information Skills survey of Cal Poly undergradutates to determine whether students have acquired the information skills essential to being independent researchers; and identify any gaps in students' information skills, in order to target the Library's instructional efforts.
LibQUAL Service Quality Assessment Results
Spring 2009. In spring 2009 the Kennedy Library administered a national survey, LibQUAL+, inviting feedback from Cal Poly faculty, staff and students about their satisfaction with library services, facilities, and collections.
Interlibrary Services Survey
Winter 2009. In Winter 2009 the Library conducted a survey of over 800 current users of its interlibrary services (ILS). We had over 130 responses (16% response rate). We're already using the results, summarized below, to improve our services
Service Improvement
Fall 2008. We conducted a Library Service Improvement Survey during the fall quarter, to help us understand user preferences about some of our services. We had a total of 474 responses, an excellent response rate for a survey of this kind. All but 7% were students, and 62% of all respondents were juniors, seniors, or grad students.
24-Hour Study Room Survey
May 2008. Late night study hours are a fact of life for students with demanding schedules. All around the country more and more universities are providing options for students looking for a safe, sociable late-night place to work away from the distractions of home and dorm.
Library Service Quality
April 2008. A total of 312 Cal Poly students, faculty and staff participated in an April 2008 survey designed to measure their satisfaction with a broad range of Library services. Student responses were widely distributed across Colleges and years, with the greatest number of responses received from juniors and seniors.
LibQUAL
2005. Cal Poly was one of the 255 libraries involved in LibQUAL+ 2005, a web-based survey conducted during spring 2005 to measure user perceptions and expectation of library service quality across North America, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and Sweden.
