GIS Day comes to Kennedy Library, November 15, 2006

Cal Poly's Kennedy Library and the SLO GIS Users Group invite you to join them for GIS Day at Cal Poly. Held annually, GIS Day celebrates Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and its multitude of uses. A GIS is a computer-based mapping tool that takes information from a database about a location, such as streets, buildings, water features, or terrain, and turns it into visual layers. Smart maps can then be created that allow the viewer to have a better understanding of a particular location and enable planners, analysts and others to make informed decisions about their area of interest or convey information to others visually.

Planned Outage: Library Online Catalog Unavailable on November 1, 2006

Thanks to the generous support of the Cal Poly Plan, the library online catalog will be upgraded during fall quarter 2006.
