Conny Liegl joins Kennedy Library
July 9, 2012 Conny Liegl joined Cal Poly as the new web designer at the Robert E. Kennedy Library. Working in technology for over nine years, Conny specializes in user-centered design and has a background in web usability and accessibility, social media marketing strategies, as well as e- learning technologies and theories.
Delivering content and service
"Our web services are essential to delivering the content and online services students, faculty and the Cal Poly community need," said University Librarian Anna Gold. "With Conny's arrival, we’ll be working to provide an even more usable and integrated online environment for research and course work." Conny's responsibilities include coordinating the library's web sites with new campus branding guidelines.
User-centered web design
Before joining Cal Poly, Conny worked for Saarland University on web design, project management, public relations and event organization for 10 years. She then crossed the ocean to work for the Electrical Engineering Department at Stanford University where she was a research scholar and web producer and worked on marketing and outreach for several projects.
Conny has taught classes in web design, photo editing, user-centered web design, and social media, and worked as a freelancer on various web-related projects. You can see her cruising around San Luis Obispo in her bright red Smart car.
Conny has a degree in Information Science from Saarland University and a Master of Arts in Information Science.
